Calling all members, friends, and those interested in genealogy,....we are URGENTLY looking to fill positions on our Board of Directors.
PCGI, Inc. has been supporting Plymouth County and beyond since 1993. We had been formerly known as the Plymouth County Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists since 1975.
Our goal of promoting general interest in genealogy while focusing special attention on the family histories and historical subjects relative to the Plymouth County area has been our mission for over 40 years.
We have three open positions on the Board of Directors as of writing this: President, Vice-President, and Clerk. If you are interested in making a difference in 2022, here is your chance!
We need candidates who will:
Hold fiduciary responsibility by helping to ensure the long-term financial stability and fiscal responsibility of the organization by setting and monitoring an appropriate budget each year, establishing a multi-year plan that is reviewed annually, and helping to ensure that the organization has strong financial practices and controls in place.
Serve as an ambassador by making it a priority to promote the mission and importance of the organization whenever appropriate/possible. Whether it be during casual conversation at a local networking event or talking to a friend, you should be ready to deliver a targeted pitch that highlights the organization’s mission, impact, and path for growth in a way that will speak to, inspire, and engage your audience.
Be a ‘connector’ by engaging personal and professional networks in an effort to support the nonprofit. By doing so, you help cultivate prospective donors, recruit volunteers, and/or identify potential additional board members.
Support the Organization by being a philanthropically engaged board member. You can set the tone for giving and membership in the community by giving and being a member yourself.

PCGI is in need of new perspectives to aid in our evolution. With more and more people doing genealogy online we have found that our organization needs to evolve. Help us strategize to stay a relevant part in our community.
